Noob Questions (First Time MMO 'r)
MY first MMO so ye I'm a noob.
Just got a few questions which probably seem a little stupid. I'm a Dervish/Necromancer but I was wondering how does the Dervish shape shift or change ive seen vids of it but no clue how to do it? How do I become a Beast Master, well how do I even get a beast ally first? Is their mounts in Guild Wars if so how do I get one? That's it for now undoubtable I'll need to know more but thanks for your time! |

Dervish can change shape with an elite form skill from the mysticism tree. Elite skills are skill you can only obtain by buying a signet of capture, and kill a specific boss.
Beastmastery is a skill tree from the ranger: you need to change your secondairy to ranger and take "charm animal" skill and the first capture a "green" pet. There are no mounts in Guild Wars. |

Welcome to guru and to Guild Wars.
To expand on gerlin's post - 1. the dervish skills required for form changing are the Avatar skills listed on this page http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...dervish_skills These can be captured in the Kourna area of the mainland. 2. You will be able to change your secondary profession after completing the quest "Hunted!" described here http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hunted%21 3. Instead of mounts, which still take forever to get anywhere, Guild Wars has map travel. Once you have visited a town or outpost, it will show on your map (Press M) and you can click on the icon and travel there immediately. Hope this helps.

Well I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon, I'm only level 6 at the moment, I'm guessing I have to be a little higher to do these quest but I'll keep it in mind.
Thanks for the help! |

Maybe this will be of some more help:
A) regular, non-elite skills, are available from skill trainers. Different skill trainers have different skills, so some skills are not available until the end areas of a campaign. There is a way around it, though: play some PvP and gain Balthazzar faction. Talking to an appropriate "rewards" NPC, you can then unlock a skill for 1000 Balthazzar faction. This does not teach you the skill, but it makes all trainers able to teach it to you and all heroes can use the skill. Also, the unlock is account wide - any character you make has the skill unlocked. B) elite skills require a whole procedure. You need to get a signet of capture, then find a boss with the right elite skill and kill it and then activate the skill over the boss' corpse. Getting the signet of capture isn't simple - skill trainers sell them, but you usually need to do a quest first which is not immediately available. Mind you, neither are the bosses you need |

More info on elite skills.
There is another way to get the elite skills besides killing a boss and capping it. You can also visit the Guild Wars in Game store and purchase skill unlock packs. There relatively cheap. You can then go in game and buy Elite Skill Tomes for your profession and after using it you can choose any elite skill you have unlocked. BTW Welcome to Guild Wars. |

a lot of your questions can probably be answered with the wiki. the link above will take you to it.
the homepage is http://wiki.guildwars.com. there is a search bar on the left side of each wiki page which should help you out. there is a lot of info there, but once you become more familiar with the game and know what you're looking for, it becomes less confusing. you can also access the wiki in-game by pressing F10. any more questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to the Game. |
